Any time I upgrade something in my house, it remin Any time I upgrade something in my house, it reminds me that good decorating really is in the details.

My old curtains werenโ€™t bad. They were off-the-shelf panels that I shortened with hem tape, and they worked. But I always felt like they could look a little more finished. Hanging these Mila Woven Leaf curtains from @threegirlscurtains proved just how much those small details matter.

The new curtains were custom made for the space, and they just skim the floor, which is more satisfying than it should be. I chose a color and a subtle pattern that really suited the space, not just one that happened to be at the store I was in. The new curtains also memory trained, which might be my favorite detail, because it ensures the fabric falls back into neat, even folds every time you open and close the curtains.

And I had them pre-washed before shipping to help remove manufacturing residue and unwanted odors before they came into the house.

None of these things is a huge design move on its own. But together, they make the curtains, and really the whole room, feel so much more intentional.

I love white walls in the right room but with a wh I love white walls in the right room but with a white bed in here they just felt โ€ฆ boring. I tried adding picture frame molding and painting the trim a slight contrast color and I tried to convince myself it was fine so I didnโ€™t have to paint againโ€ฆ but really it was just a little less boring. So, I went back to to paint store. .

Final answer for the bedroom paint color: Benjamin Final answer for the bedroom paint color: Benjamin Moore Knoxville Gray. I went back and forth about color drenching the room but itโ€™s so big I wanted to break up the wall a bit, so I went with a warm neutral, Sherwin Williams Canvas Tan, instead. A white trim would have been way too stark against such a dark color.

Our new bed arrived yesterday, and there are a few final details coming next week and this bedroom refresh will be complete!

The first photo is the current situation in our bedroom (a mockup with the new bed which hasnโ€™t come yet) I had originally planned to do a camel velvet bed in here, with white walls and the beige trim, but long story short, the bed order was canceled by company and we ended up with white. So now itโ€™s just a lot of white. So is the answer 1, 2, or 3?

Iโ€™ve been looking for new nightstands for like 3 Iโ€™ve been looking for new nightstands for like 3 months and was about to buy a pair for $700 when I found a matching set with lots of potential at the Goodwill! They were in good shape but a little orange for my liking. So I stripped them, only to find out that they were made of multiple different wood types and they took stain differently. So, I ended up using multiple stains ( Jacobean, American Walnut, Espresso) to get an even-ish look. I cleaned and rub-n-buffed the hardware and saved myself enough money to justify a splurgey purchase thatโ€™s arriving in a few weeks!

Hereโ€™s the full prompt I used to help me figure Hereโ€™s the full prompt I used to help me figure out how to create a plate wall for this space. I ended up making some changes to the final arrangement but this was super helpful in picturing how it would look and deciding which plates to use!

I want to create a beautiful, balanced plate wall using plates I already own. Iโ€™ll upload photos of the wall or room, plus photos of the plates. Design a layout that works with the architecture of the space, rather than forcing a standard grid.
Consider the shape of the wall, windows, doors, furniture, light fixtures, trim, ceiling height, and any existing art or decor. Use the platesโ€™ actual colors, sizes, shapes, and patterns when deciding placement. Create a layout that feels collected, fluid, and intentional โ€” not overly symmetrical or random.
Tell me:
Which plates to use and which to leave out
Where each plate should go
How much spacing to leave between plates
Which plates should act as anchors
How to balance color, scale, and pattern across the wall
Any pieces that feel visually off or too busy
The goal is a plate wall that looks layered, cohesive, and designer-level, using what I already have.
