A Modern, Neutral Nursery: The Inspiration
I’ve been thinking about how I’m going to decorate our nursery since the day I found out I was pregnant. Literally. I actually probably started thinking about it before that, because I’ve been working in the home decor space for the last three years and have seen my fair share of gorgeous nurseries and adorable baby furniture.
Since day 1, though, I’ve always wanted something neutral. Neutral spaces with a lot of white feel the most serene to me, like a place you’d want to bring a baby. Which means I’m pretty positive the room will have white walls, mostly white furniture, and probably either a white flokati or a Beni Ourain rug. Now that I know we’re having a boy, though, I can start thinking a little more about the details of the space.
My front-running color combination is probably white, gray, and walnut wood tones — it’s a bit masculine and a bit midcentury, but still warm and sweet. Basically, I want to copy and paste this picture into my home. Done and done.

This room, from Project Nursery, would also do just fine. I LOVE the campaign dresser. I’m not sure where this room is, but if I had to take a guess, I’d say Williamsburg.

And I’m alsooo kind of feeling a bit of black mixed into the white/gray/walnut scheme. It looks like a really cool toddler lives here.

I’m obsessed with this combination. Any similar nurseries I should know about?
