Design Crush: Blogger Emily A Clark

I was recently introduced to Emily A. Clark‘s eponymous blog when I was tasked with interviewing her for a project at work. I visited her site thinking I was just going to do a little research and be out of there in 15 minutes or so, and ended up going on her “house tour,” reading about 10 of her super-easy DIY projects (my favorite kind), and bookmarking her site an hour later.

I’m pretty sure we’re style soul mates, because her home looks like all my dreams, realized. She uses my favorite color palette of black, white, and navy, and she mixes classic, antique styles with modern ones, and adds little eclectic touches here and there, just like I like to do! Except she just does it way, way better. Let’s check out her home, shall we?

First, my favorite room in her house, the office. How could you not be creative when you work here all day? I love the business on the bottom, party on the top situation with the shelves, too: she’s got paperwork and office supplies stashed in the wire bins down below, and then the shelves up top are beautifully styled with books and objects.

Now, on to the next best room in the house, the bedroom. How gorgeous is this?! I love the mix of prints on the bed, and I’ve recently become obsessed with four-poster beds (I’m very jealous of anyone with high enough ceilings to own one … ours are only 7′ high) so this whole space just sings to me.

This is the entryway. Talk about making a good first impression. Black-and-white striped paint is bold, but at the same time such a classic look.

And the living room. BRB while I go create a gallery wall around my TV.

Emily is also a vignette-styling superhero. Check out some of these amazing little still-lifes from around her house.
