There are few micro-trends that have taken over quite like the kitchen lamp. I first spotted it maybe 2-3 years ago: a cute little lamp unexpectedly sitting on a kitchen counter, adding a touch of coziness and style to and area of the home that’s usually more no-frills and functional.

As fun as they are, kitchen lamps are also pretty practical. Kitchen counters, especially those with cabinets above them, can be subject to shadows that can make tasks like chopping and peeling more difficult. Kitchen lamps can help illuminate those shadows, which is honestly a game changer once you realize what you’ve been living with.

For both of these reasons (but maybe the aesthetic ones a bit more) I’m a big fan of the kitchen lamp. They’re a great way to warm up an all-white kitchen, or add a trendy touch to a room that’s feeling dated, all while solving for bad lighting in your kitchen.
