My Three Girls Curtains Review: Quality, Lead Time and More
Is it me, or have online curtain retailers been popping up everywhere in recent years? Maybe itโs because of my line of work and personal interests, but I feel like Iโm constantly discovering new drapery brands through my favorite designers and influencers on Instagram, or being targeted by them online.

Would you like to save this?
Not that Iโm complaining. I think custom curtains are one of the most effective ways to elevate a room, and these newer online shops make custom drapery so much more accessible and affordable than it used to be.
A few weeks ago, I got the chance to try one of the brands Iโd been seeing more often on social media, Three Girls Curtains, when they offered me custom product to review.
I jumped at the chance, partly because I’ve wanted new curtains for my family room for a while, but also because I was curious about the product quality and the ordering and delivery process.
So, I chose a fabric, took a few measurements and placed an order. Hereโs how it went.
Three Girls Curtains: A Quick Brand Overview
Three Girls is a retailer dedicated specifically to custom window treatments. The brand offers curtains, Roman shades and blinds, all of which can be customized in a wide range of fabrics, colors and styles.
There are also plenty of more specific options you can add depending on your needs, including blackout linings, memory training and motorization.
In other words, you could order olive green pinch-pleat velvet drapes for a living room, or a simple cream linen Roman shade made to fit an oddly sized bathroom window. Thereโs a large selection of solid fabrics in particular, from linen looks to velvets and textured neutrals. There are patterned options, too, although I found that selection to be a little more limited.
One of the more unusual things about Three Girls is its curtain-cleaning service.
According to the brand, Three Girls was founded after its founder became concerned about the dust and manufacturing residue that could remain on new curtains. The company offers a pre-washing service using scent-free products before the curtains are shipped.
Personally, this wasnโt the feature that drew me to the brand, but I can see the appeal if youโre sensitive to smells or simply donโt love the idea of hanging factory-fresh fabric straight in your home.
Three Girls Curtains: Ordering and Shipping

Before ordering my curtains, I ordered fabric swatches, which I would absolutely recommend doing.
Three Girls offers up to 10 free swatches per order. I actually wanted to see more than 10 because I was also looking at fabrics for a design client, so I ended up placing a second swatch order. Shipping was around $5.
The swatches took about 10 days to arrive, which felt a little slow, but once they came it was much easier to narrow down my choice. Curtain fabric can look dramatically different in person than it does on a computer screen, especially when youโre dealing with subtle neutrals, so I wouldnโt skip this step.
Once I had chosen my fabric, the Mila Woven Leaf Pattern, and decided on a pinch pleat header, the next hurdle was measuring, which can be intimidating with curtains.
Because I wanted to use curtain rings with my existing rod, I wasnโt totally sure where I should begin the curtain measurement. I reached out to Three Girlsโ customer service team, and they were very helpful in walking me through it.
I also had questions about whether I needed a liner and whether memory training was worth adding. They answered both before I placed the order, and I ended up going with memory trainingโwhich, spoiler, Iโm very glad I did.
The biggest surprise was the turnaround time.
After I placed my order, the curtains arrived in a little over a week. For a made-to-measure product, that is extremely fast. The brand states a typical delivery window of around one to two weeks, which is significantly shorter than what youโd expect from a traditional custom drapery workroom.
Three Girls Curtains: Installation

The curtains arrived neatly packaged and secured with branded fabric bands around each panel.
Installation was straightforward, but there were also a few small details that made the process easier.
The curtains came with header clips already installed for the curtain rings, so I didnโt have attach hooks myself. There were also small snaps at the ends of each panel that help conceal the end of the drape and keep the fabric neatly positioned around the rod.

I slid on the curtain rings, hooked on the curtains, and that was essentially it.
Three Girls Curtains Quality
This was the part I was most curious about.
Three Girls curtains are manufactured in China, and given the relatively accessible price point and quick turnaround time, I wasnโt entirely sure what to expect in terms of fabric quality and construction.

I’m happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised.
The curtains have a really nice weight to them, and the pinch pleats are structured without looking overly stiff. The fabric hangs well and feels substantial enough to give the room that tailored, custom look I was after. The fabric I chose is one of the heavier-weight fabrics though, almost like a brocade, so I did not have them lined. I actually reached out to customer service to ask if they recommended a liner, given that I wanted them to have a bit of weight, and they said it wasn’t necessary. If you’re doing a lighter-weight fabric like a linen or cotton, you may want to line them to add some heft (if that’s important to you).
The header tape and curtain hooks were also sturdy and secure, and I appreciated the little extra details I mentioned like the snaps on each end of the panels which conceal the header tape.
The memory training was probably the biggest game changer.
If youโre not familiar with memory training, it essentially trains the fabric to fall into consistent folds from top to bottom. Instead of the curtains billowing out or folding randomly when theyโre opened, the pleats stay neat and uniform.
Itโs a detail I didn’t really think I needed until I did it for the first time with my bedroom curtains, and I’ll never go back.
How Three Girls Curtains Compare to Off-the-Shelf Curtains

Custom curtains are obviously more expensive than picking up a pair of standard 96-inch panels, but the difference is noticeable.
With off-the-shelf curtains, youโre adapting your room to whatever sizes are available. The panels may be a little too short, a little too long or not quite full enough for the width of your window.
With custom curtains, you can specify exactly where you want the rod, exactly where you want the curtains to hit the floor and how full you want the panels to look.
Those small measurements make a surprisingly big difference.
For my own curtains, I wanted them hung high, just a few inches below the ceiling, with the panels skimming the floor. Combined with the pinch pleats, rings and memory training, the finished look feels much more polished than the curtains I had before.
Itโs the kind of upgrade where the room itself doesnโt look hugely different, but everything somehow feels more finished.
A Few Tips for Ordering Custom Curtains Online
If youโre ordering custom curtains online for the first time, there are a few things Iโd suggest doing.
- First, order swatches. Even if you think you know what you want, fabric color and texture are hard to judge on a screen.
- Second, figure out exactly where your curtain rod will go before measuring. I generally like rods installed just a few inches below the ceiling rather than directly above the window trim, which helps make the windowsโand the roomโfeel taller.
- Then measure carefully so the curtains just skim the floor. That precise length is one of the biggest things separating custom curtains from curtains that simply look โclose enough.โ
- If youโre going with pinch pleats, Iโd also recommend curtain rings. They give the panels a more tailored look and make the curtains much easier to open and close.
- And finally: get the memory training. Of all the upgrades I chose, this one is my favorite.
Three Girls Curtains Review: My Overall Opinion
Overall, Iโm very happy with my Three Girls curtains.
The ordering process was straightforward, customer service was helpful when I had questions, shipping was surprisingly fast and, most importantly, the finished product looks and feels high quality.
There are a few things Iโd keep in mind. The swatches took longer to arrive than I expected, and if youโre looking for lots of bold prints, the patterned fabric selection isnโt as extensive as the solid and textured options.
But if youโre looking for custom curtains in classic fabrics and colors, particularly if you want details like pinch pleats, blackout lining or memory training, Three Girls is an excellent option.
And yes, Three Girls Curtains is a legitimate company. That may sound like an odd thing to point out, but I know unfamiliar online custom-curtain brands can sometimes feel like a gamble, especially when youโre ordering something made specifically for your home.
Based on my experience, the ordering, customer service, delivery and product quality were all solid.
