Restoration Hardware Outlet Fairfield, CT—What To Know Before You Go and Photos

As someone who loves a good furniture deal, I was pretty jazzed to find out that there was a Restoration Hardware outlet opening a town over from me, on the Post Road in Fairfield, CT. While the neutral, sleek, oversized RH vibe is not exactly my style, there’s no denying that the furniture is super high quality, and a lot of it is simple enough that it can be easily worked into other looks. So, I couldn’t wait to check it out.

If you’re considering a trip to the RH outlet, or just want to know more about the stock and pricing, here’s what I found out on my trip of the RH Outlet, plus photos, prices and more.

What You’ll Find at the RH Outlet Fairfield

Truly it’s a mix of everything. When I went, I saw about 20 different styles of dining chair, some in sets of two of four (or more) and some singletons, lots of coffee tables and case goods, a handful of beds and kids’ room furniture, lots of sofas, plus side tables, lighting and rugs. There was also a smaller collection of art and mirrors, throw pillows and decor.

Bascially: The RH Outlet sells any type of furniture you’d be looking for.

Lots of throw pillow covers in neutrals and natural textures

In terms of style, almost everything was some shade of neutral. White, cream, beige, gray, greige, brown, black. That about covers it. A lot of it was also large, as is typical of Restoration Hardware. And a lot of it had their telltale rustic finish (the case goods, at least). In terms of upholstery, it was a mix of leathers, linen and velvet.

How Big is the RH Outlet Discount?

The discounts at the RH Outlet are big, generally 50-70% off, and more for clearance items. At the same time … Restoration Hardware furniture is super expensive to begin with. So, you might see a $10,000 sofa selling for $3,500. A big discount, yes, but also … still pretty expensive. It’s probably not the place you’re going for an impulse buy.

Some of the more affordable deals were on the smaller items like art and lighting. They had a lot of lighting when I went, and generally it was around 70% off. I loved this picture light! You can see it was $573, marked down to $170.

And I also saw this coffee table I liked, which was originally $4795, but went on clearance at the outlet for $959, which actually seemed like a good price for how massive it was.

So, overall, I wouldn’t call the RH Outlet a place to expect bargain bin deals. But if you want really high quality furniture at the price you would pay for regular mass market furniture, it’s a good bet .

Why is Outlet Furniture Cheaper?

Like lots of furniture stores, including Serena & Lily, Pottery Barn and Crate & Barrel, Restoration Hardware has outlet locations around the country where they sell overstock, open box, floor model and returned items for a big discount. Generally the merchandise is in new or like-new condition, but for some reason another can no longer be sold new.

Is the RH Outlet worth visiting?

I would say yes if you are trying to furnish a new home, or are looking for something specific, like a new sofa or a coffee table, AND you’re prepared to spend at least $1000. It’s not really like a Retail 101 outlet, where you can go an treasure hunt for smaller pieces or items that are so cheap you bring them home and find a place for them anyway. If you have serious furniture business to attend to, it’s definitely worth a stop.
