An Honest Review of Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheets, from a Cotton Sheets Devotee (+ a 35% Off Code!)
It’s kind of hard to not be curious about Cozy Earth sheets. Kris Kardashian is their spokeswoman, and the company’s sheets and towels regularly make Oprah’s Favorite Things list. It’s like they pretty much have to be good, right? But, as curious as I was about the sheets, I was also kind of convinced that they wouldn’t be for me.
The reason is because I have always preferred cotton sheets, particularly the crisp percale kind (I’ve always liked Target’s version, TBH!) I’ve tried ‘performance’ cooling sheets and t-shirt sheets and cotton-blend sheets and I’ve always returned to good old-fashioned cotton percale. I’m very particular, and as weird as this sounds, I don’t like sheets that feel too ‘slippery,’ and bamboo sheets just seemed like they’d be a little slick for my liking.
But, earlier this year, I branched out and tried a slightly different type of cotton sheet than I was used to, a sateen sheet that had awesome reviews on Amazon, despite my fears that they., too, would be overly slippery. It’s a real phobia, I’ll tell ya. TLDR, I loved the sateen sheets, even more than my percale ones, and it made me think that my perfect sheet might actually sit at a happy medium between a crisp sheet and something a little softer.
Enter: Cozy Earth sheets. I got offered a pair to review for my blog, and I decided to accept, mostly to quell my curiosity about Oprah’s favorite sheets. When I got them, I took them out of the package and immediately thought “too slick.” They are very soft, and cool to the touch, but they almost felt a little like a polyester sheet to me while they were fresh from the package and still folded up. I was skeptical.
I put them in the wash, and when they came out they were definitely softer, but I was still not convinced, so I folded them up and put them in my linen closet, where they sat for weeks. Like I said I am kind of a crazy person about my sheets, and I didn’t want to even risk putting them on and getting in bed and hating them.
They finally made it onto my bed without my knowledge, when our cleaners came and changed the sheets, and just happened to pull out the Cozy Earth pair. My husband got in bed that night and immediately goes “Yes! The good sheets,” which he usually says when the sateen sheets make it into the rotation.
But, when I got in bed, I realized that they were not, in fact, the sateen sheets, which have an embroidered stripe detail at the top, but the Cozy Earth sheets. And they were delightful. Soft like a sateen sheet, but more lightweight, and totally without that plasticky or heavy feeling that polyester sheets have, and I was worried that bamboo sheets would have as well.
After sleeping on them for a few nights, I also came to love how cool they feel. I’m a hot sleeper, and these are honestly the coolest sheets I’ve ever slept on. Needless to say, I shouldn’t have questioned Oprah.
That doesn’t mean they’re perfect, though. My one complaint is that they wrinkle like crazy. If the flat sheet ends up between my husband and I, it looks worse than a linen suit on a humid day. I don’t mind much if my sheets are wrinkled, since no one is usually in my bedroom aside from my husband and kids, but if you prefer a sheet that maintains a crisp look, the wrinkles might make you nuts. I think they’re worth it for the feel of the sheets, but neat freaks, beware.
The only other drawback to Cozy Earth sheets is the price, which rings in at $375 for a king-size pair, and is admittedly pretty steep for a single set of sheets. That said, I would never buy them full price, since you can almost always find the sheets on sale, or an influencer code for anywhere from 20-40% off. (My code KAITLINMADDEN is good for 35% off!). The code makes them far more reasonable.
Overall, I can confirm that Oprah and Kris Jenner have good taste, because these sheets have become my new favorite (NGL, they probably have people to iron theirs, though). Have you tried Cozy Earth sheets? What do you think? Tell me in the comments.
