The Best Sheets for 2026, From a Home Editor

If there’s one thing that can instantly make a difference in how comfortable your bed is, it’s your sheets. After testing 10 pairs in the last few years, here are my picks for the best of the best.
One of the great things about my job as a home writer is that I’ve gotten to test a lot of products first hand. For the last 10 years now, part of my job has included reviewing all sorts of home products and writing about them. I’ve tested vacuums, pizza ovens, paint, and power tools, but one of my favorite things to test has to be bedding, because I love my sleep, and anything that makes it better.
I’ve gotten to test some of the best bedding out there, including bigger items like mattresses and mattress pads, and smaller ones, like pillows and, yes, sheets. Surprise! Sheets are one of the products that make the biggest difference in sleep quality. They might seem like a minor detail compared to, say, a mattress, but good sheets can be a sleep game changer.
Here, I put together a list of my all-time favorite sheets in a range of price points and materials, plus details about who they’re a good fit for (i.e. hot sleepers, hotel bedding fans) to help you pick your perfect pair.

Best Bed Sheets Overall – Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheet Set

- Best for:: Hot sleepers, anyone willing to spend a little more for great sheets
- Material: 100% Bamboo Viscose
- Pros: Soft, lightweight, breathable and beyond comfortable
- Cons: They wrinkle no matter what you do
- Score: 9.33/10
Cozy Earth bamboo sheets have been listed as one of Oprah’s favorite things and the go-to sheets of the Kardashian family, so I was incredibly curious to see if they lived up to the hype. Especially as someone who has always preferred cotton sheets. And I can report with certainly that they sure do. These luxury sheets are soft, lightweight and breathable, and I love them.
For some reason, other bamboo sheets I’ve tried, from Quince, Barefoot Dreams, and a random pair I bought from Homegoods, just aren’t quite as amazing as the Cozy Earth ones. While the other brands have all been soft, they all seem to be heavier, which doesn’t quite hit the same way as the Cozy Earth sheets.
A couple of cons, though. These are considered luxury sheets, so they are expensive (but they do go on sale often!). And they wrinkle, pretty much no matter what you try (though taking them out of the dryer immediately after they’re done helps some). It’s worth it for the comfort, though.
Best Cotton Sheets – Quince Organic Brushed Cotton Sheet Set

- Best for: Hot sleepers, those who love super soft, lightweight cotton sheets but don’t want to spend as much
- Material: 100% Organic Cotton
- Pros: Super soft, lightweight, and breathable. Under $120 for King sized!
- Cons: Not quite as deep as some of the other brands, and thread count is only 200
- Score: 9/10
If you like the sound of soft, lightweight sheets, but don’t want to spend $200+ on the Cozy Earth sheets, give these Quince sheets a try. The Quince brushed cotton sheets are a very close second behind my Cozy Earth sheets. They came neck-in-neck with the Cozy Earth sheets in my rankings, and beat out the Cozy Earth sheets in some categories, because they’re about half the cost and they don’t wrinkle as badly. But, if I had to add some subjectivity to it, these are just not quite as comfy as the Cozy Earth bamboo sheets. Overall, still a winner though.
Best Luxury Sheets- Pure Parima Triple Luxe Hotel Collection Sateen Sheet

- Best for: Anyone who loves the feel of luxury hotel sheets
- Materials-100% Egyptian Cotton
- Pros: High quality, washes beautifully, thoughtful design details
- Cons: Super expensive
- Score: 9.16/10
If you love a classic cotton sateen sheet, these are my top pick. These sheets remind me of a great hotel sheet. They’re well-made and luxurious, with nice little extras like an elastic strap on each corner that keeps them perfectly in place.
When it comes to sateen sheets, I’m pretty picky because, while I like my sheets silky, I don’t like them “slippery,” and these hit that “just-right” Goldilocks spot. They are juuust slick enough.
The only cons to these sheets? They’re not quite as cooling as some of the other sheets on this list (which may not be a con if you’re not a hot sleepers), and they’re pricey, coming in at $300+ for a king-size pair.
Best Budget-Friendly Cotton – Threshold 400 Thread Count Performance Cotton Sheets

- Best for: Kids rooms, budget-friendly sheets that hold up long terms
- Material: 100% Cotton
- Pros: These sheets are soft and great quality for the price. I’ve had my oldest pairs for six years and they’re still in great shape.
- Cons: They’re super comfortable, but not the most comfortable on this list.
- Score: 8.33/10
The big selling point for these: For just $35 – $65 , you get soft, 100% cotton sheets that last for years. These have been my go-to sheets for my kids since they first graduated from their cribs, and I’ve actually owned them for my own bed as well. They strike the perfect balance between quality, coziness, and price-point, so it’s hard to beat them if you’re looking for a budget-friendly, widely available sheet you can probably find at your local Target today.
Best Budget-Friendly Bamboo – Quince Bamboo Viscose Sheet Set

- Best for: Those who want the softness and cooling factor of bamboo sheets without a $250+ price tag
- Material: 100% Bamboo Viscose
- Pros: Super soft, pretty color options
- Cons: Heavier and more drapey than Cozy Earth sheets
- Score: 8/10
Once again, if you’re looking for an lower-cost alternative to the Cozy Earth bamboo sheets, the Quince Bamboo Viscose sheet set was the next-best option I tried, at least for the price. They were nearly identical to a Barefoot Dreams pair I tried, which costs $300+, but the Quince version costs $99-$139, depending on size.
Like the Cozy Earth sheets, these are cooling and so soft, but the big difference is that the Quince pair is a little heavier and feels more “drapey” as opposed to ligthwight.
The Best Sheets 2026 – How I Tested

First, a few notes about the types of sheets I tested and how I tested them.
For one, you’ll only find sheets on this list that are made of natural materials like cotton and bamboo. I have tried polyester sheets (including “performance” sheets) in the past, and they’ve all been, well, awful. They may be less expensive, but for a little bit more money, you can get natural-material sheets that are so much more comfortable and breathable.
Overall, I considered 10 pairs of sheets for this list, and I’ve owned and slept on all of them for at least six months. Some I’ve had for years, and some are more recent, but I’ve given them all my best ZZZs.
To come up with my favorites, I scored each pair of sheets on the same set of criteria, including:
- Value for the price
- Comfort
- Breathability (I personally sleep hot so this is important to me)
- Mattress Fit
- Wear & Tear
- Appearance
I gave each sheet a rating of 1-10 in each category, then averaged them all together to get a final rating. You’ll find expanded info on each sheet set below, but if you want the quick-hit version, here’s an overview of the top-5.
