Bright Whites

These whites are the brightest and cleanest that Sherwin Williams offers, making them excellent picks for walls modern homes (or homes with cool-toned hard finishes, like gray granite, bright white cabinetry, or black hardware), trim, ceilings, and exteriors. They can also work for cabinetry, again, if you have a more modern-leaning space.

Warm Whites & Off-Whites

Sherwin Williams’ best-selling off whites and warm whites make excellent choices if you’re looking for a shade of white that doesn’t feel stark. Each of these has some depth thanks to its slightly deeper LRV (these colors have an LRV under 82, while the shades above are brighter, with an 83+ LRV.). I love off-whites for whole-home colors, walls in living spaces, and kitchen cabinets. They also work well as trim colors against deeper-toned walls, to create a more subtle contrast.

Greiges & Warm Neutrals

Greige and beige are having a big moment lately, and these hues are perfect if you’re wanting to warm up your kitchen/bathroom cabinetry, bedroom or powder room, or do a subtle contrast trim against white walls. I also love them as whole home paint colors that run through hallways and staircases.

Cool Grays

These gray shades all have a purple, blue or green undertone that gives them a cooler cast. While cool-gray rooms aren’t quite as popular as they were 10 years ago, cool gray remains a popular pick for whole-house colors, as well as exteriors and exterior trim like front doors and shutters. I would skip them in the bedroom and on kitchen cabinets, though.
